Prayer to Saint Blaise, protector of the throat
Saint Blaise was a renowned physician in the 3rd century who went through an existential crisis, seeking God to find true happiness. He chose to retire to Mount Argeus, where he spent his time in prayer and intercession. When the bishop of Sebaste died, he was invited to take on the role of pastor. Saint Blaise was persecuted and killed because of his faith, but his devotion to Christ and the Church was even stronger, and for this reason he is venerated in almost every part of the world.

O blessed Saint Blaise, who received from God the power to protect men against throat diseases and other ills, remove from me the illness that afflicts me.

Keep my throat sound and perfect so that I may speak correctly and thus proclaim and sing the praises of God. With the grace of God and with Your help, I promise to strive, O glorious Martyr Saint Blaise, so that the speech that comes from my throat will always be:
For real and not for lies;
Of justice and not of slander;
Of kindness and not of harshness;
Of understanding and not of intransigence;
Of forgiveness and not of condemnation;
Of excuse and not of accusation;
Of respect and not of contempt;
Of conciliation and not of intrigue;
Of calm and not of irritation;
Of detachment and not of selfishness;
Of edification and not of scandal;
With encouragement and not defeatism;
Of conformity and not of complaints;
Of love and not of hate;
Of joy and not of sadness;
Of faith and not of disbelief;
