Saint Pamachius

Christian Roman senator, in 387, Pammachius became a monk and decided to dedicate his life to the poor. He was one of the founders of an inn, at the mouth of the Tiber River, which welcomed poor and sick pilgrims free of charge. He contributed to the construction of the Basilica of Saints John and Paul, in Célio.
