Saint Blaise, bishop and martyr

Saint Blaise was a highly renowned doctor in the 3rd century who experienced an existential crisis, seeking God to find his true happiness . He had a significant experience with the Lord and this led him to seek holiness. His life changed and many people began to be evangelized through his testimony.

Saint Blaise: An Example of Prayer and Intercession

Saint Blaise chose to retreat to Mount Argeus , where he spent his time in penance, prayer and intercession. Through this pursuit of holiness , many were able to be blessed by the presence of God in their lives. He is also venerated as the patron saint of different professions, such as construction workers, veterinarians, boys, bricklayers and sculptors.

São Brás: A Shepherd of Souls

When the bishop of Sebaste, in Armenia, passed away, Saint Blaise was invited to take on the role of pastor. Although it was not of his own free will, he accepted and, through his testimony, evangelized many people. He was a successor of the apostles , faithful to the Church, courageous and of great prayer.

Saint Blaise: A Saint Venerated in Almost Every Part of the World

Saint Blaise's reputation for holiness reached many places and, therefore, he is venerated by many people in almost all parts of the world.

Their devotion is remembered on February 3rd, when the priest blesses the faithful with two candles crossed before their throats, in memory of the miracle of healing a child.

Saint Blaise was also persecuted and killed because of his faith, but his devotion to Christ and the Church was even stronger.
