Prayer of Saint Josephine Bakhita

Saint Josephine Bakhita was an African girl kidnapped and sold into slavery, who survived violence and brutality. She was acquired by an Italian officer, who provided her with shelter and meals.

Later, she was entrusted to the Canossian Sisters of Venice, where she met Jesus and was baptized Giuseppina Margherita Fortunata. In 2000, she was canonized as a Saint of the Canossian Family and is an example of strength and perseverance for all.

O Saint Josephine Bakhita, who, since she was a little girl, was enriched by God with so many gifts and responded to Him with all her love, watch over us.

Intercede with the Lord so that we grow in His love and in the love of all human creatures, without distinction of age, race, color or social situation.

May we always practice, like you, the virtues of faith, hope, charity, humility, chastity and obedience.

Ask the Heavenly Father now, oh Bakhita, for the graces I need most, especially ( make your request ).
